Eight days a week

The week of politics held every year on the island of Gotland will now be one day longer - in order to fit in the newly arrived Sweden Democrat party.

Almedalen week in early July is a chance for politicians to present their policies to the media and to the public. Each party has a day set aside.

The organisers of Almedalen week are the political parties of Gotland's council They have now decided that the Sweden democrats will get the final day - sunday - beginning in July 2012.
