Little effect from anti-drinking campaign

A new report casts doubt on the effectiveness of one aspect of Sweden’s strong policies against alcohol.

The Swedish National Audit Office says that the state’s US$ 130 million campaign to fight teen drinking over the past decades has had little effect. Alcohol consumption among the young has declined, the agency notes, but it underlines that it is far from certain that this is in any way connected with the government’s campaign.
