Sony Ericsson Increases Market Share

Sony Ericsson has increased its market share in the world mobile telephone market.

According to a new survey from the research group Gartner, the Swedish-Japanese company has increased from 6.7 to 7.7 percent of the market, remaining in fourth place. Nokia continues to dominate, with 35 percent of world cellphone sales, followed by Motorola and Samsung.

Gartner says global sales of mobile phones have risen 21 percent this year, with 10 percent growth expected in 2007.
