Indictments in Computer "Liberalgate" Scandal

Six people, four of them leading members of the Liberal Party, are being indicted in connection with unauthorized intrusions into the rival Social Democrats’ internal computer network.

Among those who’ve been charged are the former Liberal party secretary and the party’s chief press officer. The scandal over the intrusions is one of the reasons attributed to the Liberals’ poor showing in the September elections.

The non-Liberal part members to be indicted are a Social Democrat Youth League member who allegedly leaked the login information to the network in the first place, and a tabloid journalist who used the information to login and look for scoops.
