Keeping All Members in the EU Commission

European Union Vice President Margot Wallström has called for each member state having a seat in the bloc’s executive body.

Speaking to reporters in the Estonian capital Tallinn, the Swedish EU commissioner said it is important that the commission represent all members, big or small. She was joined in her comments by Estonia’s commissioner Siim Kallas, who is also an EU Vice President.

Last week another EU vice president, Germany’s Günther Verheugen suggested making the commission slimmer by having smaller member states hold deputy commissioner seats.
