The Average Swedes: Lars and Anna Johansson

In America it’s Smith or Jones, in Sweden the average Swede is usually called Svensson. But Statistics Sweden now says that should be Johansson.

In its annual report the agency describes the average Swedish family. Their last name is Johansson, the parents’ names are Lars and Anna, and their two children are called Johan and Emma.

They live in a house in a suburb, and both parents work full time. They drive a seven year old silver gray Volvo, and have a computer connected to the Internet.

But, the report says, the average Swedish family does not have a dog.
