Prime Minister’s Plane Avoided Collision

It’s been reported that the Swedish government plane, with Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt onboard, was involved in a serious incident at an airport in Berlin on January 12th.

The newspaper “Metro” reports that the two-engine Gulfstream, carrying Reinfeldt and five of his closest advisors, was taxiing, after getting the go-ahead to take off, when the pilot spotted another plane landing on the same runway. Because of the pilot’s quick response, an accident like the 2001 incident that took more than 100 lives at Milan’s Linate airport was avoided.

The Swedish air force is investigating, and has demanded an explanation from the authorities at Berlin’s Tegel airport.
