Pharmaceutical giant to shed 3000 jobs

Swedish-British firm Astra Zeneca is cutting the posts, despite soaring profits.

The company announced an annual pre-tax profit of 2.1 billion dollars, but says it still needs to improve productivity.

The jobs will go over the next three years and the company says the firm’s plant in Södertälje, south of Stockholm is likely to be affected.
