Snow continues to fall in a white-covered Stockholm and in much of southwest Sweden, which is still digging itself out of snow piles which have caused havoc on the highways and distrupted train, plane and boat traffic.
The temperature at noon in Stockholm was minus ten degrees Celsius. Gothenburg, on the west coast, had minus six. In Malmö, in the far south, it was minus one degree Celsius, and in some points in the far north, it was as cold as minus thirty degrees.
The sun rose in the Swedish capital this morning at 7.05 am, with sunset at 5.01 pm.
