Mosque Opens in Stockholm Suburb

After 8 years of applications, appeals and confrontations, a new mosque has opened its doors in Fittja, a Stockholm suburb with a large immigrant population.

This follows a similar struggle to build a mosque on Stockholm’s southern island , which was blocked for years by protests and complaints that the daily prayers would disturb the peace and that it would attract militant Moslems.
