Jonas Björkman and Thomas Johansson secured Sweden's quarterfinal victory against Argentina

Davis Cup Semis in Gothenburg

Sweden will play the United States in the Davis Cup semifinals at Gothenburg’s Scandinavium Arena on September 21-23.

The surface has not yet been selected, but the Swedish Tennis Federation said Thursday it is likely to pick a similar fast surface to the one used last weekend in the 4-1 quarterfinal win over Argentina.

The United States, which has a record 31 Davis Cup titles, beat Spain 4-1 in the quarterfinals on indoor hard courts.

The Scandinavium Arena, which is used mostly for ice hockey and concerts, seats 12,000.

Sweden won two of its seven Davis Cup titles - in 1984 and 1997 - against the United States at the arena.
