Sweden and Finland in NATO Force?

Finland’s Prime Minister says that his country and Sweden have agreed to join NATO’s rapid reaction force.

Both Nordic nations have recently increased cooperation with NATO and are members of the alliance’s Partnership for Peace program. But both are also staunchly neutral and talks of participation in the 25,000 strong force have been viewed by many as a controversial move here in Sweden.

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt is said to have prepared a joint response with his Finnish counterpart on Swedish troops taking part.
