Social Status Affects Breast-feeding

A new Swedish study shows that class and wealth determine how long a Swedish woman breast-feeds her child.

Experts recommend nursing longer than 6 months for better nutrition and and to prevent infections.

Researchers at Uppsala University studied more than 37,000 Swedish women, in one of the largest studies ever into breast-feeding.

The results reveal that many working class women stop early while those with better education and higher living standards continue.
