Abuse of Disabled Women

Three out of ten disabled women in Sweden have been assaulted, threatened or been subjected to sexual harassment.

The first Swedish study of its kind suggests that the victim often knows the attacker.

Despite statistics showing that one in seven sustained injuries because of repeated violence, few of the women sought medical care or help from the police or a public agency.
