Soccer Warm-up Against the US

Sweden will host the United States in a friendly soccer match in August as a warm-up for its European Championship qualifier against Denmark.

According to the Swedish Football Association the game will be played at Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg on August 22, about two weeks before the match against Denmark.

Sweden coach Lars Lagerback said that the team always strives ”to have as strong opponents as possible and the USA is a strong nation with a good team.”

Sweden is in second place in Group F, but has played one less game than leader Northern Ireland.
