Criticism of Persson’s Career Move

Sweden’s former prime minister Göran Persson has been criticised for taking a highly-paid position as a senior advisor at Swedish public relations firm JKL.

Green Party co-leader Peter Eriksson has accused Persson of undermining the integrity of politics, saying that such a move fans people’s mistrust of politicians.

Persson has said he will advise the JKL firm and will not lobby on behalf the company. The former prime minister is to take up his post in August.
