Compensation for Lack of Daycare

If parents can’t get a place for their children in a preschool, they should get compensation from their local council, says Sweden’s Liberal Party.

All children in Sweden from one year old are entitled to a place in a daycare center.

But in some areas there are simply not enough preschools and queue systems have been introduced.

The newspaper Svenska Dagbladet reports that the majority of the center-right government alliance parties are backing the suggestion that parents who have to wait more than 3 to 4 months should be given financial compensation.
