Swedes Have Most Vacation in EU

A European Union survey shows that Swedes enjoy the most number of vacation days of all their EU counterparts.

According to Eurofound, the European foundation for the improvement of Living and Working Conditions, Sweden comes a clear first with the number of annual vacation days --an average of 33.

Two weeks more than Sweden’s neighbour across the Baltic, Estonia, which also has fewer public holidays than Sweden. The survey shows that new EU-members from eastern urope, tend to have fewer vacation days than more established members of the bloc.

The foundation also says that Swedes work the second fewest number of hours across the 27 member EU, with only the French being off more, due to the shorter work week in France.
