The letter is a response to Reinfeldt’s visit to the United States in May of this year, where the two leaders discussed trade and the environment. In his letter Bush writes that ”the American people are grateful for the strong connection to Sweden’s citizens.”
The American President added that ”together we can expand peace, prosperity and freedom all over the world.”
Bush also thanked the Swedish Prime Minister for the grass trimmer he received, saying he has already found use for it on his ranch.
Reinfeldt was criticized in Sweden for acting to timidly at his meeting with Bush; with critics saying the Swedish Prime Minister should have expressed criticism over the war in Iraq.
