Increase in Protected Identities

The number of people living under a new protected identity in Sweden is increasing.

According to official statistics, the number has doubled since the begining of the 1990’s. Women who have suffered domestic abuse and children make up the largest group, as well as people who have testified in court trials.

There are some 10,500 people in Sweden living under a new protected identity.
