Umemployment Drops

According to the Swedish Employment Service, the number of unemployed in this country has dropped from 5.2 percent of the workforce in July last year, to 3.7 percent in July this year.

At the end of July, 173,000 people were out of work in Sweden, a fall of 71,000, or 1.5 percentage points compared to July last year. The number of job vacancies listed by the service rose to 46,000 in July, up 56 percent since last year.

The fastest growing job sector of full-time positions was in retail and finance.
