Swedish Waste to Sellafield Stalled

Plans for Sweden to send 4.8 tons of nuclear waste to the Sellafield plant in England have been postponed.

The waste was to be despatched at the end of August in a controversial move sanctioned by the government and criticised by Greenpeace Sweden.

The British Environment Agency have put the transportation on hold, claiming they have not yet completed adequate plans for the handling of the waste at Sellafield in northwestern England.
