Christian Olsson tore his hamstring in Rome

Christian Olsson Withdraws from Osaka

Sweden’s Olympic triple jump champion Christian Olsson will be missing the World Athletic Championships, which begin in Japan at the end of this week.

The Swedish Athletics Federation says Olsson is still suffering from a left hamstring injury, which became worse at a Golden League gala in Rome last month. The national team doctor says rehabilitation for such injuries usually takes about two months.

Olsson won the triple jump in both the 2004 Olympics and the 2006 European Championships.
