The SAS crash-landing in Lithuania

Rusty Bolt in All SAS Dash Planes

Almost all of the SAS 8-Q400 Dash planes had the same fault in the landing gear as the 2 planes that crash landed in Denmark and Lithuania recently.

That’s the conclusion of the Scandinavian Civil Aviation Authorities following checks on all the airline’s aircraft of that type. No one was seriously injured in the 2 accidents, which occurred when a rusty bolt caused the landing gear to malfunction. SAS say they aren’t to blame for the problem, and are blaming the manufacturer, Bombadier.
