H&M Posts Jump in Profits

The Swedish clothing giant H & M reported a 24.5 percent jump in profits for the second quarter of 2007.

The company says that improved operating performance was one of the reasons for the improved result, but also that its clothes for the autumn season seem to have gone down well with customers.

The company celebrated its 60th birthday earlier this month and now has over 1400 stores around the world, with another 83 shops due to open by the end of the year.
