Dip in support for Christian Democrats

One of the junior partners in Sweden’s centre-right coalition government, the Christian Democrats, has seen their support fall below the four percent needed in a general election to obtain seats in parliament.

A new poll shows support for the party has fallen 0.9 percentage points since September to 3.9 percent.

Support for the Christian Democrats also fell below four percent in June.

Party representatives told Swedish news agency TT their poor showing was a result of the party failing to live up to voter’s expectations and electoral promises made in the run-up to last year’s general elections held in September.
