Sweden’s Scania to Bid for Germany’s MAN

Swedish truck-maker, Scania, is preparing a bid to take over the German rival MAN – the very same company which tried to take over the Swedish firm last year.

Swedish financial daily, Dagens Industri, claims the head of Volkswagen – the largest shareholder in both the Swedish and German companies – supports the new bid.

The daily adds the Swedes would have the leading role in a new merger – and create Europe’s largest heavy truck-maker – ahead of Volvo-Renault Trucks.
