Sweden Backs Low Fishing Quotas

News reports claim Sweden is preparing to demand as low as possible fishing quotas when European Union fishing ministers meet next week.

This is to help protect the dwindling stocks of cod in the Baltic Sea.

The Swedish minister of agriculture maintains it’s also important to combat illegal fishing in the area – and that Poland is one of the biggest offenders catching more than its share.
