More Hooliganism at Swedish Football Matches

There was yet more hooliganism trouble last night following a match between AIK Solna and IFK Gothenburg, with supporters throwing glasses and bottles at the police. 3 people were taken into custody.

And police say that the amount of violence surrounding football matches in Sweden is growing. Younger and younger fans are getting involved and the type of violence is getting more and more serious according to officers. Whereas in the past many of the gangs of hooligans had certain codes of conduct when fighting, these are no longer widespread and in many of the fights, anything goes, including kicks to the head and beating up people lying on the ground.
