Reports from Ericsson, ABB, Nordea

A few days after issuing a profit warning, Swedish telecoms giant Ericsson posted a 36 percent drop in third-quarter net profit Thursday and announced that its chief financial officer has stepped down.

In other quarterly reports, the Swedish-Swiss engineering giant ABB posted a forecast-beating 86 percent jump in net profit, reflecting increased demand for power infrastructure and more energy-efficient technologies.

Nordea, the Nordic region’s largest banking group, reported a 932 million euro operating profit, above expectations, but below the 1 billion euros posted last year.
