More Police On Streets To Cut Crime

Police forces across the country are to join forces over the next 3 months in a joint campaign to try to cut down on the changing character of street violence in Sweden.

More officers are to be placed on squares and streets around the country where gangs of youths are known to congregate.

Lars Hammarsjö, who works at the youth crime unit at the Stockholm Police, welcomes the move. He told Swedish News Agency TT that although the number of crimes hasn’t risen, the type of violence has become rawer.
