Virus In Brain Can Lead to Schizophrenia

A Swedish study of over one-million children has confirmed the theory that a virus in the brain leaves children more susceptible to schizophrenia and other psychological diseases.

The study, which was done at the Karolinska Institute, showed that there was no connection to bacteria in the brain and psychosis, however it did show a rise by 60% in relation to a virus.

In an interview with Dagens Nyheter newspaper, Christina Dalman from the Insititute said that although it was not an extremely high risk, it still meant that if they can lower the risk of a virus, they will also be able to lower the number of cases of schizophrenia in the future.
