Swedish Municipalities to Tackle Climate Issues

According to Christian Democrat party leader Göran Hägglund every municipality should take more responsibility in dealing with the issue of climate change.

Hägglund who is the Minister for health and Social Affairs presented on Friday a 10-point proposal plan in an article in Dagens Nyheter newspaper.

One proposal is for the renovation and in some cases the demolition of buildings that are environmentally unsound. Other proposals include making it easier for cyclists as well as themed days in local schools.

Hägglund also points to the fact that it is necessary that such countries as India and China reduce their emissions, but it is just as important to think locally about our own immediate environment.
