Teachers’ New Pay Deal

A new salary contract for teachers sees over 220,000 employees receiving a pay rise in the coming years.

Talks between the teacher’s union and employers came to the decision that salaries should increase by a minimum of 10.2 percent by March 2010.

The changes will also affect headteachers and those working in youth centres. The agreement follows similar changes in other employment sectors.
