Major Donation to Karolinska Institute

The chairman of the fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz has donated 56 million dollars to Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute, the medical university that awards the Nobel Prize in Medicine every year.

The institute says that Stefan Persson, one of Sweden’s wealthiest people, made the donation through his family’s foundation. It’s the school’s largest ever donation, and will finance the construction of a new assembly hall.
