Swedes to Avoid Northern Kosovo

The Swedish foreign ministry is recommending that Swedes refrain from travelling to northern Kosovo.

The region has been the scene of violent protest demonstrations from the Serbian majority there - angry over Kosovo’s declaration of independence from Belgrade.

So far, Sweden has not recognized Kosovo as an independent state as a number of other European Union members have done – but the Swedish government indicates that this is just a question of time.
