Gothenburg Prepares For World Figure Skaters

Sweden’s West Coast City of Gothenburg is host to the World Figure Skating Championships which will be officially opened by Crown Princess Victoria at the Scandinavian Arena on Tuesday Evening.

A record, 48 countries and 203 skaters will compete in the championships which conclude on Easter Sunday.

19 year old Adrian Schultheiss, and Kristoffer Berntsson from Gothenburg are the main Swedish hopes after both enjoyed top ten finishes at the recent European Championships in Zagreb.

Although second to Stockholm, Gothenburg is Sweden’s major sporting city, with numerous international events held at the Scandianvian indoor arena as well the Ullevi outdoor arena.
