Swedish State Must Pay Back 116 million US Dollars to EU

Published onsdag 26 mars 2008 kl 12.14

Sweden may be forced to pay back over 116 million US dollars to the European Union.

According to the EU commission, Sweden has been rather liberal with raising EU benefits for pasture lands that may not even be classified as agricultural land. Speaking to daily Dagens Nyheter, Anders Elfström of the Swedish Board of Agriculture considered this critique very serious and believes that monies paid out over the last two years may have to be paid back by the Swedish state.
