Swedish Guards Ignore Dying Prisoner

The Swedish media has also ben giving much attention to criticized 3-year-old police investigation of the death of a 31-year-old detainee in jail in the  small southern Swedish town of Nyköping 3 years ago.

A doctor’s report says the man suffering from severe pneumonia should have been sent to intensive hospital care - but that he was left in his cell over a week-end until he died.

The police and prosecutor who have now terminated their investigation have found no one at fault – but failed to question the guards on duty then why they noted the sick man’s condition - without reacting.
