Petrol Prices Hits Record Heights

Petrol prices have reached a record level in Sweden. Motorists now have to pay 12.99 kronor per litre for regular unleaded petrol at the pumps, that’s just over 2 US dollars.

The motorist organisation Motormännen expects petrol to go through the 13 Kronor barrier this summer, bad news for motorists already warned of extensive roadworks over the holiday period.

The high price for crude oil on the world markets is behind the increase.

The earlier record level was 12.89 kronor per litre in 2006.
