More Military Units to Be Closed

With its financial trouble still unsolved, Swedish armed forces may face more severe cuts in the coming years.

As daily “Svenska Dagbladet” reports, several units could be closed – thus leaving the north of the country without air force units and the south without any military units at all.

As of today it is unclear how many employees of the Swedish armed forces would be affected. The Ministry of Defence has recently pointed out that more units would have to be shut down if the armed forces wanted to deal with its large deficit.
