Swedish Government To Send Aid To Burma

The Swedish government is prepared to send help to Burma, following the devastating cyclone that hit the country over the weekend.

In a press statement Sweden’s Foreign Aid Minister Gunilla Carlsson says the country is willing to send transport and water purification units. The offer of help has been sent to the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, she added.

The Swedish Red Cross is pleased that international help is being accepted as their Lena Birgitta Hansson told Swedish Radio.
