Former State Secretary Explains Resignation Issue

Published torsdag 8 maj 2008 kl 12.24
Ulrika Schenström

Ulrica Schenström , the former government State Secretary and confidante of Prime Minister Fredrick Reinfeldt who was forced to resign from her job after being photographed spending a whole evening in a bar with a TV 4 journalist when she was supposed to be on call in case of a national emergency , has given a written explanation of her behaviour to a government investigative committee.

Schenström who turned down the opportunity to appear before the constitutional committee in person, and instead wrote a letter explaining her actions, said that on the night in question last October, she was in constant touch with the Prime Minister by telephone and could be called back in case of an emergency.
