Every Fifth Pupil Bullied

Almost seven out of ten pupils in Sweden’s schools think that teachers and other adults do little to engage themsleves with problems at school, such as bullying.

The Svenska Dagbladet newspaper reports that more than one in five pupils are subjected to some form of bullying at school.

At Sweden’s open air museum Skansen on Wednesday, over 5,500 children and youngsters took part in a demonstration against bullying.

The anti-bullying organisation Friends , which organised the event and helps pupils speak out against bullying , has two pupil representives in every classroom to expose any problems in their class.

It’s report into bullying, carried in the SVD newspaper, suggested that 68 percent of youngsters surveyed, believed their school did too little prevention work against bullying and other problems.
