Doris Lessing Blasts Her Nobel Prize

British Nobel literature prize winner Doris Lessing has denounced her Swedish award as a ”bloody disaster” since all the mass media attention has killed her desire to write.

The ageing and ailing writer insists all the pressure for interviews and comments has drained her of her energy.

Lessing did not attend the prize ceremony here in Stockholm last December on doctor’s orders, and has earlier blasted both the prize in general and the Swedish Academy’s motivation for her award.
