Boat Strike Affects Tourists

Commuters in Gothenburg Going To Work Before The Strike

The Swedish Ship Officers Union has gone on strike affecting tourist boat traffic in the Stockholm and Gothenburg Archipelagoes.

The strike will affect the people of Gothenburg who use the boats to get to get to and from work and school from the many islands in the area while in Stockholm it’ll be mostly tourists affected using the sightseeing boats which remain docked in the harbour.

The strike between the Swedish Ship officers Association and the Almega Employers Association is over pay, while in addition , ferry captains in Gothenburg are complaining that their counterparts in Stockholm are paid more to do the same job.

A total of 28 boats will be taken out of service during the strike which started at midnight, Monday.
