More Jabs For Kids

Swedish children are to be offered a free of charge vaccine against pneumococcus, a bacteria that can cause ear and sinus infections, but also blood poisoning and even meningitis.

The jabs will be given 3 times during the first 12 months of the child’s life, at the same time as they are vaccinated against other diseases such as polio and tetanus. During 2006 98 kids became seriously ill from pneumococcal infections and 5 died. The vaccinations have been recommended for kids in the United States since the year 2000.
