Sweden to World Hockey Semis

Sweden won through to the semi-finals of the World Ice Hockey Championships Wednesday, defeating the Czech Republic 3-2.

Mattias Weinhandl scored the winning goal for the Olympic champions in overtime, when he backhanded a loose puck from a scramble in front of the Czech goal.

Sweden faces host Canada in the semi-finals Friday.
