Report Demands to Double Gas Prices

A new study claims that Sweden has to raise gas prices by 100 percent by the year 2020 in order to reach its goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

According to the study carried out by the Swedish Institute for Transport and Communication Analysis the price for a liter of gas has to double from today’s 13 to 26 Swedish Kronor, which is 4.25 US Dollars.

The researchers maintain that simply relying on the invention of more environmentally-friendly motors will not be enough to cut carbon dioxide emission by 20 percent by the year 2020. Instead, taxes on fuels would have to be raised considerably.
