Rabies Ban Extended

And in more EU news, Sweden, Finland, the UK, Ireland and Malta have been given an extension on their rules that all pets being brought into their countries have been vaccinated against rabies and Echinococcosis.

The decision was made at a meeting of EU agriculture ministers Monday. The extension runs until 2010, by which time more permanent measures will have been negotiated, the ministers hoped.
